Be in the here and now with our popular music cover band class. We will learn to cover billboard songs throughout the decades in multiple genres, and will represent each of our own individual musical cultures for our final performance. We use real and self-created instruments to make unique percussive sounds or melodies. This class is a fun, quasi improvisational, and our goal is to experience the joy of playing music as a group while also expanding our individual knowledge about musical styles and genres.

New Music Group

Focus on your songwriting skills at your own pace. This course includes elements of vocal training, ear training, theory, and technique on either keys or guitar. Advanced students who already play an instrument can also apply for placement in the keys AND guitar combination class.

Singer Songwriters Class

For beginner to early intermediate students, class piano focuses on developing a basic knowledge of piano. We learn to write using theory, study scales and key signatures, and learn how the scale and chords work together using the keys to understand the theory. We will develop a basic knowledge of piano and how to accompany versus play instrumentals. For more help with piano technique, and to develop a practice plan for individual success, please register for private or semi-private lessons. This class can give you the basics of what it takes to succeed at the piano. If you aren’t sure whether to commit to private lessons, check this class out to see if studying piano is a fit for you!

Piano & Music Theory

Acoustic Guitar Group is a beginner class designed to allow students to move quickly by motivating each other. The class will learn basic tuning, holding, and care for your instrument. We will learn strumming patterns, basic plucking styles, and will perform a few tunes as a group. Students will learn the difference between solo playing versus accompanying techniques will be studied. This is a 14 week long course. Registration is required.

As many of you know, I struggle with health at times. As a result, all fall classes will take place either virtually or in my home studio space. I have been hard at work correcting my walking, posture, and the way I play all instruments as a result of my diagnosis a few years ago. Thank you for also understanding that I will also only be accepting 15 private students this year. Please get your registration forms in early to be sure and reserve your space. My docs recommend easing back into my profession, and many of you who know me know, this is a challenge for me. I love to perform, and absolutely adore teaching music. I expect to have a few additional spaces opening in January for those who are unable to get in for this semester.
