Our Story

Prestige Performers LLC was established in 2009 by small business owner Crystal, Lynn Brown. She started Prestige with the mission of offering music lessons in group and private settings for students in St. Louis who would otherwise not have access to music instruction, ensemble performances, or even music classes. We began operating as a 501c3 in 2014, converting the new entity to Prestige Performers, Inc.

Due to health complications with Ms. Brown, we paused operations right before the onset of pandemic. After a few long years of paperwork and waiting periods, we have officially opened and are resuming operations in 2026. We will update our community when the final step is complete: reinstating the 501c3. Until then you can still make donations as we are currently operating on a volunteer basis only.

Our Future

Prestige has reopened on a volunteer basis, and as we secure funding will be adding programs to our existing offerings. While we will still be affiliated with music and the arts, our mission has expanded to meet the growing needs of our struggling community. Folks all over are struggling to pay their bills, afford housing, pay for food or transportation, and thus our mission has grown. Prestige has expanded our services to offer “Performance” related training & assistance in education, around the home, and during life transitions, emergencies, or struggles.

Our Mission now includes three areas of focus:

Education & The Arts

Our demographic includes children, families, and educational facilities for kiddos ages one to 18. All music and training programs are provided by Lynn Musik, and those who qualify for Prestige assistance will be given a sliding scale rate for classes or lessons. Students can apply for tuition assistance through Prestige, and can qualify for up to 100% depending on their circumstances. We currently offer free classes at many St. Louis County Libraries, local churches, and in Ms. Lynn’s in home studio spaces. We also travel to schools & educational facilities. For questions about our rates and application process, please email Lynn Brown

Home & Life

Home services for elderly and disabled clients will be provided by parter small businesses, and applicants can qualify for up to 100% of their home services being covered by Prestige Performers funding. Sliding scale rates will be provided for all who qualify. Services Prestige and affiliates will offer include cleaning and organizing, lawn care, snow removal, minor home repairs and maintenance. For details or questions, contact Lynn Brown

Housing and Empowerment

The growing population of families and individuals becoming unhoused is a community crisis. The cost of rent is not affordable for most individuals, and it is close to impossible for many low income individuals to find housing. There are many programs in place that help this community, but not enough that help disabled, low income, and unhoused folks who are not veterans. While we also love and appreciate our retired services members, we recognize that focusing primarily on this demographic is causing us to neglect so many others who also need help. Prestige Performers will provide direct connection to services, and will assign qualifying applicants with a “mentor” or “case manager” to personally help them navigate through the process of finding adequate housing, employment, and all services needed to make that happen. While we do not provide housing directly, we will share the burdens with you, and will advocate for your needs.

Our Mission & Vision for Prestige Performers 2026

Our vision is to provide “Prestige Performers” services. We want our clients to perform at the highest levels possible in education, the arts, in home and family life, and professionally. As we work to grow our organization, we will be focusing primarily on helping individuals perform better. While focusing on these 3 areas of need: employment & housing, home and life, and education, we will be making a direct impact on our community one life at a time.

Our current goals for the immediate future are to grow partnerships, rekindle old connections, and continue to bring our mission and vision to life. We intend to offer these comprehensive services to struggling artists, single parents, and those who have been affected by the housing and economic crisis due to illness, mental health, or domestic violence. We will start with 5 clients annually and grow to service more individuals as our funding capacity expands.
